Chethana Special School, Karkala, Karnataka

Started by some enthusiastic youths of this Jain Pilgrimage centre where a 42 ft statue of Lord Bahubali was consecrated in the year 1432.

At present with student strength of 50, it is having all facilities like, speech therapy, physiotherapy, yoga, vocational training, etc. 

These students participated in state level Olympics for special children, Rotary club competitions etc and won gold medal at dist, state & national level championships also. Midday meal & other needed help are offered by Sri Venkataramana Temple which is pioneer in philanthropical activities. Government of Karnataka honored this with cash award of Rs.25, 000/- for the devotion, dedication & commitment of the social workers of this temple of physically challenged.
