Age Limit: Candidates age should between 18 to 27 years as on 04-10-2015. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India orders.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Matriculation for Postman, Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board or University for Mail Guard.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on Aptitude Test.

Application & Examination Fee: Candidates should have to pay Rs.100/- mandatory for all categories of applicants who have registered (application fee), Rs.400/- for all male applicants in General & OBC categories (examination fee). No Examination Fee for SC/ ST/ PH/ Women candidates. The fees are payable in cash through Post Offices having e-payment facility. The registered applicants should pay the required fee through system generated challan only.

Instructions to Apply Online:
1. Log on through the website http://tamilnadupost.nic.in/.
2. Click on Recruitment & select the desired post.
3. Click on “Click here to Apply Online”.
4. Click on “Apply for Postman or Mail Guard”.
5. Again Click on “Apply” Fill all the details carefully, upload the photograph & signature and submit the form.
6. Now take print out of application form for future use.

Starting Date to Apply Online: 11-09-2015 at 00:00 hrs.
Last Date for Apply Online: 04-10-2015 at 23:59 hrs.
Last Date for Payment of Fee: 07-10-2015.

PAY STRUCTURE OF POSTMAN: (DA INCREASED BY CENTRAL GOVERNMENT (GOVT.OF INDIA) (EVERY YEAR BY TWO TIMES (JANUARY AND JULY). NOW DEARNESS ALLOWANCE AS ON 01/07/2015: 114%

1) BASIC PAY: Rs.5830/-

2) GRADE PAY: Rs.2000/-

3) HRA Means (House Rental Allowance) 30% (BASIC PAY + GRADE PAY x 30%) = Rs.2349

4) DA (DEARNESS ALLOWANCE) (BASIC PAY + GRADE PAY  x 114%) = Rs.8926/-

5) TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE= Rs.1600/- 

6) DA FOR TA (Rs.1600 x114%) = Rs.1824/-

TOTAL GROSS PAY: (Add: 1 to 6) : Rs.22529/-

DEDUCTIONS:
1.NEW PENSION FUND: (Rs.5830 + 2000 + 8926 x 10%) = Rs.1676

2.UNION SUBSCRIPTION: Rs.50/-

3.SBF : Rs.50/-

4.RECREATION CLUB : Rs.25/-

TOTAL DEDUCTIONS: Rs.1801/-

NET PAY: TAKE HOME SALARY FOR EVERY MONTH = GROSS PAY - TOTAL DEDUCTIONS: Rs.22529 - Rs.1801 = NET PAY: Rs.20728/-
