IMBIBE THE SERVICE ATTITUDE TO MAKE SEWA OUR NATURE

Swami Vivekananda had time and again repeatedly stressed his four-fold remedy of strength, character, service and organisation to arise and awaken the masses and the nation. In his 150th birth anniversary year this remedy for national awakening
kindles our minds and hearts. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which has been relentlessly working towards the goal of param vaibhav i.e. highest glory of the nation,
has defined these four virtues as man-making mission. In this each individual is inspired to devote his body, mind and intellect at the altar of the motherland.

Therefore, in evaluation of each shakha, we stress on three important parameters, viz, the quality and quantity of karyakartas trainedby that shakha; intimate relationship
with the families residing within the shakha locality; and service activities being carried out with in the shakha area to promote social harmony, healthcare, education,
development and disaster management. The service activities of a shakha are aimed at removing shortage of all kinds from the society besides inculcating virtues amongst
the swayamsevaks such as humility, courage, consistency, devotion on the one hand and arousing pride and self-esteem amongst those being served.
In view of this, sincere efforts are being undertaken to akeservice the nature of the shakha, where mainly young students and earning swayamsevaks attend regularly. It is imperative to evaluate these efforts from time to time. From this point of view this issue of Sewa Sadhna devoted to ‘Enterprising Shakhas’ will prove an important milestone.
This issue will give a thorough idea of varied innovative activities being conducted by such enterprising shakhas all over the country and inspire and encourage the karyakartas by instilling in them virtues like social sensitivity, humility and selfless service attitude, all encompassing love and compassion, devotion etc. On the basis of these virtues our
swayamsevaks will be able to understand the most difficult sewadharma and imbibitions their behaviour. This will help them to organise the society and patriotic citizens to achieve the goal of making the nation glorious.
