Report of the Ramanathapuram Kilakarai case, who died in Stanley Medical College

*Report of the Ramanathapuram Kilakarai case, who died in Stanley Medical College and transferred to Ramanathapuram in ambulance and later known to be COVID 19 positive.*

The patient returned from Dubai on 16.03.2020 and stayed in Chennai (Pavalakara St, Mannadi, Chennai). He had fever and difficulty in breathing on 02.04.2020 and was admitted in Stanley Medical College on 02.04.2020 at 9 am, but died at 11 am on the same day. He was suspected of COVID 19 and swab was taken there. The corpse was packed and his relatives were told that he is a suspect case and was transfered in an ambulance by his family to Ramnad on same day. They reached Kilakarai, Ramnad on 03.04.2020 at around 2 am and was buried in Keezhakarai Old Jumma Mosque on 03.04.2020 at 10 am. 

Report of the test at KIPM revealed that he is COVID 19 positive on the night of 04.04.2020. 

Person who travelled along with the COVID 19 positive deceased in the ambulance: Md. Kiyasudeen, 55 yrs.

Ambulance driver yet to be traced.

7. Mujeeb Rahman (Son) Contact no. 9444942222 was in Kilakarai.

Updates today (05.04.2020)

Detailed investigation of the Keezhakarai case today revealed that his son had hidden the facts yesterday night. The deceased body was opened prior to burial in the mosque and routine ritual procedures like cleaning and bathing were performed inside. 

As per reports, around 300 attended the burial ceremony including a local MLA, as the deceased was a businessman in Dubai.

Body was shifted in 3 different hearse ambulances. All those were Government Free Hearse service vehicle, arranged by Stanley RMO.
1st was from Chennai till Ulundurpet. 
2nd Govt hearse van till Pudukkottai. 
Then from Pudukkottai to Kilakarai,  Ramnad in another vehicle. 
All three shifting process made the body packing very loose. 

Disinfection of the mosque, house and street done today morning.

Disinfection of the entire town with complete shut down of the entire town and quarantine of all contacts, is going on. 

Home Quarantine is announced for entire town.
