More than 5 lakhs Indians are estimated to be in dire need
of an organ transplant - kidney, lever, heart, pancreas etc. But the transplants
are in thousands only in a year, which takes place in super specialty hospitals
– Govt or private.
Since the awareness is less in India, our organ donation is
1/100th that of USA. Some

Skin grafts are donated for burn victims.

Bone, tendons are used in reconstructive
